What is Crossed Thoughts?

I remember a when my friends and I were sitting under the stars watching a meteor shower. It was a cool night, we had to off road a bit to get to a location with less light pollution. There are not many places to go in Southern California within a nights drive. As we gazed into the meteor-streaked and star-lit galaxy, our backs to the city-lit horizon, we stood in awe of a vast universe. The existential reality of my finite life stood back to back with the eternal universe, the thought crossed my mind, “Is there more to life?”

Have you ever had thoughts cross your mind? It could be as eclectic as seeing a license plate with the digit LUVBLUIS (Love blue eyes) and immediately think of a girl you like who has blue eyes, then your mind conjures up The Who song titled, “Behind Blue Eyes,” which leads to the chorus playing “No one knows what it’s like ; to be the bad man; to be the sad man; behind blue eyes.” Then, this leads to nostalgia of simpler times when you and your friends would sit down, play great music, and chill. Then your mind wonders what leads people to hurt others.

Crossed thoughts intersect at Interest and Perspective. How does our entertainment connect to what we think about religion? How do politics connect to food? How do sports connect to our relationships? How does technology influence the way we view ourselves? These are journeys we will take together. We will explore the connection of the things we do with how they affect our happiness, security, and purpose.

Happiness, security, and purpose may be described as the categories of how people make decisions regarding to relationships, jobs, location etc. We will connect what we do everyday, from the music we listen to and to the food we eat, to the why of life. My goal is to be engaging, fun, and simple. Thanks for reading. I am looking forward to discussing crossed thoughts with you all!
